Netscape Gold Step-by-step
- STEP 1:

Open saved document or create a new document
- Saved files may be accessed from a floppy disk or hard disk. Selecting new document will display a blank page ready for the addition of text, graphics and links.
- STEP 2:
Type or paste text into the editor window
- The editor allows text to be typed directly onto the web document. The all buttons on the keyboard function as they would in other text-editing programs. Text can also be pasted onto the editing window from another text-editing program (for example WordPerfect).
- STEP 3:
Save document
- It is wise to save the document at different stages during the editing process. Saved work can be restored, but if the machine crashes any work unsaved will be lost.
- STEP 4:
Insert graphics
- graphics may be inserted into the editing window. Place the cursor on the desired graphic location. Select the Graphics tool and choose the desired graphic.
- STEP 5:
Create hyperlinks
- Highlight the text or graphic to be activated as hypertext. Select the Link tool and enter the URL to be accessed.
- STEP 6:
Font Size
- Highlighted text can be sized using the Font Size tools.

Page Layout
- Highlighted text or graphics can be positioned on the page using the Layout tools.
- STEP 8:
Font Colors
- Highlighted non-hyperlink text can be assigned colors.
- STEP 9:
Link and Page Colors
- Explored and unexplored links and page background colors can be defined with the Object Properties tool. Areas of the web document DO NOT have to be highlighted because the Object Properties setting affect the entire page.
- STEP 10:
Save document
- The document should be saved. The document, if complete for public access can be uploaded to a web server. The current beta version of Netscape Gold does not support this upload, thus another ftp must be used for the task. Later versions of Netscape Gold promise to allow direct uploads to the servers.
