Excel is a "spreadsheet application" which means that it is designed to help the user manipulate numerical data (such as budgets, research data analysis, etc.). Excel is designed to quickly and accurately perform complex and tedious calculations. Excel can help automate the process of calculating your data as well as lay it out in a more appealing and meaningful way.
