This task force is here to provide direction for the development of an information infrastructure to maximize the benefit to the agricultural sector. Possible high-speed applications that have been indentified by the task force include:

VRT Database
    Variable Rate Technology (VRT) lets farmers apply pesticides more precisely by using information obtained from GIS (geographic information system) technology.
CyberFarm Exhibit
    CyberFarm, an exhibit created by the agribusiness task force for the first annual Information Agriculture conference in Champaign, Illinois, June 1996
SPOT satellite images
    SPOT satellite images are collected daily in the ``visual earth project.'' Images can be used by agricultural workers to monitor crop growth and soil moisture content.
Farm Bureau Broadcasts
    The Farm Bureau provides commodities information, weather data, and cooperative education services utilized by farmers.
